Hotel management jobs are very popular and much sought after, and for several good reasons. One of the most important of these is that it is a stable career which will definitely provide opportunities for the rest of your working life. The hotel industry satisfies a fundamental need of the human race, and will not become obsolete or be superseded by a better version. In fact, the demand for hotel bed space is only likely to increase in the coming years, from both business and leisure travelers. A career in hotel; management is about as solid as you can get. There is also the factor that hotel management is fundamentally low tech. Although computers will be used in the booking and accounting systems of hotels of just about every size, the actual operation of those systems can be left to the staff personnel who handle them. As a manager, you will need a working knowledge of the systems to be able to supervise the operation and deal with any problems, but this understanding need not be any deeper than knowing which professional to call out to solve the problem. If you are someone who would sooner spend their working life dealing with humans than computers, you may find hotel management ideal.
